Kicking off the New Year

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I loved having some time off to spend relaxing and having fun with my family and friends. But, I am more than ready to take on 2014 and I am so excited to see what it has in store! :)

Last week, I made a trip up to see the official Miss Missouri USA and Miss Missouri Teen USA dental sponsor, Dr. Ross Headley. It was so nice to finally meet him and his staff. This weekend, my mom and I traveled to Omaha, Nebraska, to watch the Miss Nebraska USA and Miss Nebraska Teen USA pageant. At both Kansas and Oklahoma there were snow storms the weekends of the pageants, but this weekend there was no snow, just bitter cold temperatures! I think the coldest I saw was -11, but I heard rumors  of -20 and below! Brrrr! Despite the cold, I had a blast getting to watch both the preliminary competition and the final competition with the other visiting titleholders. Congratulations to the new Miss Nebraska USA and the new Miss Nebraska Teen USA! :)



Well, Christmas break officially ends tomorrow, and I will be going back to high school for my last semester! I can hardly believe it! Next weekend I will be going to watch the Miss Arkansas USA and Miss Arkansas Teen USA pageants in Bentonville. I am also finishing up my presentation for my new project, the Confidence Counts Movement, to speak to groups of kids about healthy relationships, self respect, and self esteem. I can't wait!
